After leaving Delhi, the Smith’s would encounter much less support, without assistance from the R.A.F. Landing too would be problematic, with no regular airports on the remainder of the route. A forced landing was needed in Muttra, to attend to a faulty indicator light. During this leg of the trip, they passed over the Taj Mahal as they worked towards pursuit of ‘the elusive Poulet’.
