Pam Hausler’s grandfather Peter Clarn made this maquette of Sir Ross Smith in 1926 from plaster on wire mesh, as part of preparations for the Sir Ross Smith Memorial in Cresswell Gardens. It was sent to England for approval and English artist Frederick Brook Hitch was chosen to creature the final sculpture. Pam still has the original maquette, which was restored by ArtLab in 2018.
